I heard about this new rehab center on one of the Atlanta radio stations. I cannot speak to it's effectiveness, but it sounds like a peaceful, lovely retreat in any case. “This is a women’s-only facility for those struggling with drug and alcohol problems or those with emotional needs,” says director Rebecca Kelly. They offer residential and outpatient services. The facility sits on a rural 48-acre wooded lot among the rolling foothills of the Smoky Mountains between Seymour and Maryville, Tennessee. The Brookhaven Retreat is located at 1016 I.C. King Road, in Seymour, TN.

Dr. Doreen Virtue is a trained psychologist. Her specialty and dissertation deals with survivors of abuse. Doreen, who holds B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in counseling psychology, was the founder and former director of WomanKind Psychiatric Hospital at Cumberland Hall Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She was also an administrator at Woodside Women’s Hospital in the San Francisco Bay Area. Both all-women psychiatric hospitals specialized in treating women’s psychological issues.
